Mikaela and Robert's wedding at the historic Robison Mansion in Canon city was such a perfect way to start the 2018 wedding season! The full highlight video will be ready in the next couple of weeks, but we couldn't wait to show off some of the footage, so we put together a quick wedding video preview!
Robert and Alexa - First Duel
This is totally our new favorite wedding tradition. You know, most wedding have first dances... how about a first DUEL!?
Robert and Alexa truly embraced their wedding day with light-hearted fun. Though the day was chock-full of romance and sweet moments, there were plenty of moments like THIS that truly made it spectacular. The full highlight video will be along in a few weeks!
Kimberly and Dan - Wedding Preview
I'm excited to share this short preview of a recent wedding that we shot at Granby Ranch, Colorado. September might be my favorite time of the year for weddings in Colorado. If the timing works out, the fall colors and autumn leaves can make for the most gorgeous scenery. This weddings timing was perfectly in tune in that regard, and the setting was truly spectacular.
We stole the couple away for a short period at sunset, and drove to a nearby gazebo vista that had sweeping views of the entire area. I love getting to do private sunset shoots with our couples. It often ends up being the first time during the day for couples to be (basically) alone, and it gives an opportunity to capture the joy and love that makes weddings so special.
We can't wait to edit the rest of this amazing wedding! Congratulations Kimberly & Dan!
Zoe and Scott - Wedding Preview
There are some moments in shooting weddings where everything just clicks. The chemistry of the couple, the location, the lighting, the weather, and the timing all align to allow for incredible footage. Zoe and Scott's first look this past weekend was one of the most perfect examples of this that I've ever gotten to be a part of. The rest of the day was similarly perfect. The low clouds and mist, which were gorgeous for the first look, eventually burned off, opening up for a beautiful, sunny ceremony and reception. I'm so excited looking at the footage, and I can't wait until I get to edit the full video.
Bixby and Jason - Wedding Video Preview
The Denver Botanic Gardens has been one of my favorite places ever since I first moved down to Denver for college in 2006, and it is one of the best places in Denver to have a wedding. I've been hoping to get to shoot a wedding there since I first started up my business, and Bixby and Jason's wedding was an amazing way to cross it off of my venue wishlist.
The day itself was a bit rainy and grey, but Bixby and Jason didn't let that phase them at all, and it made for an absolutely gorgeous, romantic first look at the Botanic Garden's Monet Garden. It's such an honor getting to share in moments like this with the couples whose weddings we capture and it is so much fun to get to watch the joy and elation on couples' faces the first time they see each other.
Congratulations Bixby and Jason! Thanks for letting us be a part of your wedding day!
Jill and Sam - Copper Mountain Wedding Video Preview
Just like the Vail wedding video I posted a couple of weeks ago, Jill and Sam's wedding in Copper Mountain Colorado was right on my home turf, only about 15 minutes from my childhood home. I grew up skiing, hiking, and biking at Copper, which makes getting to shoot there such a joy.
Jill and Sam were simply awesome to work with. They built hours of time for photos and video into their schedule, and they were so involved in and excited for the process of capturing awesome images. The centerpiece of our sunset shoot was an encore of their beautifully choreographed first dance, and I can safely say that it is some of my favorite footage I've ever captured. I love the way the silhouettes and shadows play on the grass, with the Copper valley as the backdrop. I can't wait to edit the highlights for this wedding.
i also want to send a HUGE thank you to Greg Roe from Roe Photography for all of his help throughout the day. Greg was fantastic to work with, and does some truly wonderful work.
