It is my brother Nate's and my awesome sister in law Katie's one year anniversary, so I thought I would celebrate by sharing the video we put together for that as a wedding present.
This was a tough wedding to shoot, as I had to juggle shooting the wedding with being in the wedding party. Nate originally asked me if I could put a camera in the back to shoot the ceremony, as they weren't planning on hiring a videographer. I decided I needed to try to do something a little more elaborate. I was a bit preoccupied with being in the wedding, which left my wife/assistant Lauren to pick up the slack and she was more than up to the task. She has shot a few dozen weddings with me now, and is an incredibly talented videographer. I'm so lucky to have her at my side for all of my weddings. Most of the credit for this video really belongs to her.
This is truly special to me. It was such a joy to put together a video for two of my favorite people on earth, filled with clips of friends, family and loved ones. It was amazing to walk down the aisle to a processional played by my dad, alongside my niece Kayla, to stand between my brother Jon and my nephew Dylan. It puts such a different perspective on the wedding films I make, to be able to be the videographer and also the "client." It makes me want to be able to create videos for other that make their family as happy as this video makes me.
Congratulations Katie and Nate! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wedding, both as a groomsman and as a videographer.
Oh, and I totally rocked that bowtie and those suspenders:
